Harley’s First Litter

We made a SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT on June 18th, 2023: PUPPIES ON THE WAY!!! Many of you have asked for Morkies so that’s what we decided on for this litter. Harley came into her season so soon after we had Ace neutered so we didn’t look for a yorkie stud. She mated instead with Stormy. Full Yorkie + Full Maltese = Morkie. We were all so excited!

Just days later, on June 24, 2023, the puppies were born at the firehouse!!! Well… 4 of them were. See, Dana is a firefighter & I (Rox) am a paramedic. We both work 24 hour shifts. When our shifts overlap, Dana takes all 4 dogs to work with him. (We don’t leave them alone). On this particular Saturday, we both had to work. There was a parade, a festival, and fireworks scheduled that day – so a lot was going on. And Harley decided that would be a great time and place to deliver! Needless to say, Dana ended up going home with her (where she delivered the last 3 pups). And I came home soon after. We had arranged our work schedules for at least one of us to be home every day for the next 2+ months, starting with the next shift. Um… we were one shift too late! (The photos above are of Stormy, nervously looking into the maternity ward!) And, then……

The Sheriff of Fluff Town was proud to announce the arrival of SEVEN new citizens!

Within a couple of days, she was all settled in with her new babies and happy to let us help her care for them. In these photos, she had brought them over to us, one by one, then sat on our laps with them!

She had 4 girls and 3 boys! All seven babies are healthy, happy and adorable! This has been such a fun journey for us all! If you follow us on Facebook, you know what we mean!
