I LOVE the long, silky, beautiful white hair of the Maltese. The way it feels, so soft and luxurious. The way it blows in the wind when they’re running. Being able to pull it up into a top knot. Our original intentions were to keep their hair long for these reasons, BUT….
These puppies love to play in the dirt & mud! They roll around and wrestle in it. They come back into the house coated in mud, which turns to sand and gets everywhere! They run through the grass and get grass seeds and sand spurs stuck in their hair.
And… it’s hot here in Georgia. The heat and humidity on top of all of that hair just does not make a good combination, sooo… we decided to give them a puppy cut!
They feel so much better now. We can tell by all of the smiles and the way they strut, so proud of their new cuts!
